Deron Millman grew up in the small town of East Sparta, Ohio; population: 795. He was introduced to hunting by his grandfather when he was 10 years old, starting off with small game and birds, then at age 12 he took his first whitetail deer.

Deron’s first international hunt was to Quebec when he was 23, in pursuit of Quebec-Labrador caribou. From then on Deron was hooked on international big game hunting, traveling all over the world as time and finances allowed while he continued growing his business.

Deron says his favorite hunts are for the various sheep and goats found in the world’s mountains, and he has taken his fair share over the years. He has amassed 39 different sheep species with 54 total rams. As for the goats, Deron has taken 42 different Capra species with over 90 different wild goat entries to his credit.

A close second favorite hunt for Deron would be for the numerous pygmy antelope and duikers found in Africa, but he never passes the opportunity to take a big cape buffalo or any of the big cats Africa has to offer as well.

Deron says there are far too many memorable hunts to list but some near the top would be his Rocky Mountain bighorn from Arizona which earned him Grand Slam #2320 as well as his Cameroon rainforest hunt where he successfully hunted both the forest elephant and forest buffalo found there.

The last two hurdles Deron needed to cross for Pantheon induction were the Super Slam of North American big game and the SCI World Conservation and Hunting Awards, both of which he achieved in 2025, earning his place as a Pantheon inductee.
