Jeff Demaske of Colorado grew up in central Wisconsin and got into hunting small game like squirrels, rabbits and grouse when he was 7 years old. He took his first big game animal, a whitetail deer, on his family’s farm at the age of 12.

After college, Jeff moved to Colorado and met the love of his life, Jann. Colorado offered Jeff more hunting opportunities for mule deer, antelope, and elk. His first international hunt was for black bear in Alberta and on that hunt, by happenstance he met legendary big game hunter, Rex Baker. Rex showed Jeff a Grand Slam Club/Ovis magazine on that hunt, and it totally changed his life as he then set his mind to complete the North American Super Slam and possibly even an international sheep or goat hunt someday. Little did Jeff know what this chance meeting with Rex Baker would mean.

Not only did Jeff eventually finish his North American Super Slam and Grand Slam of sheep, but he went on to take an astounding 13 ½ Grand Slams of wild sheep!

Jeff didn’t stop at just hunting North American sheep either, but really got after the international wild sheep and goats around the world as well. He has accumulated a total of 92 sheep and 50 goats on his Ovis and Capra list.

Obviously, Jeff is a sucker for a tough hunt, and he credits the North American mountains as being his most mentally and physically challenging hunts; however, the dark continent and her Cape buffalo are some of Jeff’s favorite animals to hunt.

Induction into the Pantheon is obviously a monumental task with the SCI World Conservation and Hunting award being one of the biggest obstacles to overcome. Jeff earned that award in 2025 which qualified him for induction into the Pantheon.
